The tournament consists of 16 starters with only 6 of
these players eventually scoring points. Matches consist of three sets to 15 in the first
and second round, as well as the fifth and sixth place playoff and three sets to 21 in the
semi-finals and finals, as well as the third and fourth place playoff.
ROUND1
Round one consists of 16 players playing 8 matches in all. Winners of these matches go on
to the second round while the losers come to the end of their tournament.
ROUND2
Round two consists of 8 players playing 4 matches in all. Winners of these matches go on
to the third round. Losers do not come to the end of their tournament as they will battle
for fifth and sixth place. This is done by the 4 players playing 2 matches. The losers of
these 2 matches come to the end of their tournament. The winners of these 2 matches play
each other with the winner of this match being placed fifth while the loser is placed
sixth.
ROUND3
Round three consists of 2 semi-finals matches. Winners of these 2 matches go on to the
finals. Losers of these 2 matches play each other for third and fourth place.
FINALS
The finals consists of the top 2 players in the tournament battling it out for first and
second place.
